About the school

Aeroklub Rybnickiego Okręgu Węglowego (AROW) has flown from Gotartowice aerodrome near Rybnik (EPRG) since 1964. It runs theoretical and practical training toward glider licences (SPL, LAPL(S)) and aeroplane licences (PPL(A), LAPL(A)), and, through its glider section, FI(S) instructor, glider-aerobatic and glider-towing ratings.

Per AROW's 2026 price list (valid 1 Jan–30 Jun 2026, checked 6 Aug 2026, a PDF document) — this is a members'-rate tariff: the document itself states it "is not a commercial offer… merely a reimbursement of part of the Association's statutory running costs". Joining fee: 900 PLN (aeroplane section), 750 PLN (glider section). Annual membership dues: 540 PLN (over 23) / 370 PLN (under 23) / 740 PLN (full AROW+AP member). Theory course: glider 1500 PLN, aeroplane 2100 PLN (classroom or a correspondence method using the AROW e-learning platform). Practical course: basic glider package (up to 47 dual + 5 solo flights) 6200 PLN; PPL(A) (45h on a PS28 Cruiser) 42480 PLN; LAPL(A) (30h on a PS28 Cruiser) 28320 PLN. Hourly rental: Cessna 172 960–1080 PLN/h, PS28 Cruiser 750–870 PLN/h, single-seat glider 90 PLN/h, two-seat glider 150 PLN/h; winch launch 42 PLN, aerotow 27–34 PLN/min.

Note

The club also runs UACP (microlight, Aeroprakt A-22L2) training and separate parachute, model-aircraft and vintage-aircraft sections — outside this entry's scope, since the ULC register does not list UACP for this organisation. The theory course itself runs roughly 2 months (56h glider / 100h aeroplane), taught in weekend blocks.
