About the school

The gliding section of Aeroklub Częstochowski trains pilots for the Sailplane Pilot Licence (SPL) at Rudniki aerodrome (EPRU), open to anyone aged 14 and up. The course covers 65 hours of theory lectures plus a practical phase launched by winch or aerotow. The club operates a fleet of Polish-built SZD gliders (including Bocian, Puchacz, Junior and Jantar types) and also offers introductory flights and additional FI(S) glider-instructor and aerobatic ratings.

Per the site's price list (as of 6 Aug 2026): group glider theory course 1250 PLN (individual 4800 PLN); practical training by winch (55 launches) 5995 PLN, by aerotow (45 launches) 13680 PLN; glider-instructor fee 168 PLN/h (84 PLN/h during cross-country flights); annual club-glider usage fee from 2100 PLN (up to 20h) to 5328 PLN (up to 60h) depending on the hour cap. Gliding-section membership dues: 324 PLN/yr (under 24) or 546 PLN/yr (25+); enrollment fee 400 PLN (under 24) or 800 PLN (25+).

A DTO is a lighter-weight form of training organisation, declared to ULC without full ATO certification. For a PPL(A) candidate it leads to exactly the same licence — DTOs are usually narrower in scope (e.g. PPL/LAPL only) and are often a cheaper, local option.
