About the school

Aeroklub Bielsko-Bialski is based at Bielsko-Biała Aleksandrowice airfield (EPBA), whose history dates back to 1933–1934, with the club's own flight school running since 1936. The club trains both glider and airplane pilots (LAPL(A)/PPL(A)), including additional ratings (night flying, glider towing, glider aerobatics) and FI(S) instructor training, and it also manages the airfield itself.

Indicative price

Per the site's price list and course offer (as of 6 Aug 2026), the tariff covers both members and non-members: joining fee 120 PLN (students under 25 trained at the club) / 240 PLN (club-trained members) / 600 PLN (trained elsewhere); monthly dues for flying sections 60 PLN (or 50 PLN/month if paid annually in advance); annual glider-section dues 200 PLN (for pilots with over a year of membership). Glider flights 1.40–2.50 PLN/min depending on membership, winch launch 40–55 PLN. Bristell B23 rental: 930 PLN/h (members) / 1008 PLN/h (non-members). PPL(A) course: 51,300 PLN; LAPL(A): 34,200 PLN; SPL – theory 1,150 PLN, practice 6,000 PLN (winch) or 11,500 PLN (aerotow); FI(S): 5,000 PLN; TMG rating: 3,900–4,300 PLN.

The club also runs a skydiving section and a model-aircraft section — outside the scope of this DTO-102 entry (glider and airplane training).

What this means for you

A DTO is a lighter-weight form of training organisation, declared to ULC without full ATO certification. For a PPL(A) candidate it leads to exactly the same licence — DTOs are usually narrower in scope (e.g. PPL/LAPL only) and are often a cheaper, local option.
