About the school

Aeroklub Leszczyński operates from Leszno airfield (EPLS) – Europe's largest grass airfield and a historic hub of Polish gliding that has hosted the Gliding World Championships three times (1958, 1968, 2003). The club runs theoretical and practical training toward the glider (SPL) and airplane (PPL(A)/LAPL(A)) licences, and also offers introductory flights, aircraft hangarage, and night glider flights.

Per the site's price list (as of 6 Aug 2026), a MEMBERS' tariff: the statutory per-hour glider rate for an AL member is 55-65 PLN/h depending on type (80-100 PLN/h for non-members), airfield launch fee 12 PLN (member)/24 PLN (non-member), aerotow 32-39 PLN (member)/38-49 PLN (non-member) depending on tow plane; airplane rental with instructor (Cessna 150 or Morane MS 893) 600-650 PLN/h for AL members (685-715 PLN/h for non-members) or 730-865 PLN per flight. Airplane theory course 2000 PLN; PPL(A) practical training (45h) 36,100 PLN (one-off) / 37,700 PLN (instalments), LAPL(A) (30h) 21,300 PLN – 2025-season prices (710 PLN/h of training flight); night VFR training 4800 PLN; glider-tow instructor rating (on the Morane MS 893) 2500 PLN. Glider theory course 1300 PLN; SPL practical training 7100 PLN (under 25) / 7600 PLN (others); individual training plan (IPS) fee 500 PLN (both paths). The flight rates are an AL members' tariff — annual membership due is 330-360 PLN (under 25) or 550-600 PLN (others), plus an equipment due of 240-600 PLN/year (or monthly variants); the site does not list a separate one-time joining fee.

What this means for you

A DTO is a lighter-weight form of training organisation, declared to ULC without full ATO certification. For a PPL(A) candidate it leads to exactly the same licence — DTOs are usually narrower in scope (e.g. PPL/LAPL only) and are often a cheaper, local option.
