About the school

Aeroklub Stalowowolski (ASW) trains pilots at Turbia airfield near Zaleszany/Stalowa Wola. Its aeroplane section runs a PPL(A) course on PZL-110 and PZL-150 Koliber aircraft, while its gliding section offers SPL training on two-seat Puchacz, Bocian and Puchatek gliders plus an FI(S) glider-instructor course. The aeroklub also runs balloon and model-aircraft sections.

Per the site's price list (as of 6 Aug 2026): PPL(A) – 42,000 PLN for practical training, no hidden extra costs stated (ULC exam fees separate); SPL – theory 1,800 PLN, practical 6,800 PLN; FI(S) – theory course 1,500 PLN (if the practical part is done at ASW) or 1,900 PLN (if done elsewhere), methodical flights 3,500 PLN, seminar 1,200 PLN/person individually, 600 PLN/person for 3+ participants, 400 PLN/person for 5+ participants.

PPL(A) theory is delivered via e-learning (e.g. Avioner) or at accredited theory centres; SPL theory is taught in person at the airfield, usually in spring on weekends. The site does not state Turbia airfield's ICAO code or surface.

What this means for you

A DTO is a lighter-weight form of training organisation, declared to ULC without full ATO certification. For a PPL(A) candidate it leads to exactly the same licence — DTOs are usually narrower in scope (e.g. PPL/LAPL only) and are often a cheaper, local option.
