Górska Szkoła Szybowcowa AP "Żar" is an Aeroklub Polski training centre operating since 1934 at the foot of Mount Żar in Międzybrodzie Żywieckie — one of Poland's oldest and most important mountain-flying training centres. Training runs from the school's own Żar aerodrome (EPZR), using the Beskidy mountains for ridge and wave soaring. The school runs a full glider pilot licence (SPL) course on two-seat Puchacz and ASK-21B gliders launched by aerotow (35 flights, including 5 solo), as well as a PPL(A) aeroplane licence course on a Robin DR 2160, a touring motor glider (TMG) rating on a Dimona H-36, UPRT training, and glider and aeroplane aerobatics.

Per the site's price list (Opłaty szkolenia page), as of 5 Aug 2026: discovery flights — motor glider 500 PLN, glider 600 PLN, airplane flight over the Tatras 1,800–3,000 PLN depending on group size (1–3); glider course — theory 1,200 PLN, basic practical training by aerotow 9,000 PLN (further glider training billed at a separate, higher tariff for people outside the Aeroklub Polski, "Nie AP"); TMG course — theory (individual) 600 PLN, practical training on the Dimona H-36 3,600 PLN, Dimona H-36 flight 450 PLN/h, instructor surcharge 80 PLN/h; annual hour packages for adults: 30h 2,400 PLN, 50h 3,750 PLN, 80h 5,600 PLN (under-24s: 2,100/3,450/5,300 PLN); aircraft rental: Robin DR400 / Dynamic GTI 1,500 PLN/h, Robin R2160 (VFR) 950 PLN/h; aerotow and supervision fees differ for Aeroklub Polski youth, Aeroklub Polski adults, and non-members ("Nie AP" pay higher rates, e.g. glider tow billed per each started 100 m of height: youth 26 PLN, adults 30 PLN, non-members 45 PLN).
