Grudziądzki Klub Balonowy is a sports club based in Grudziądz with roughly 23 members and hot-air-balloon pilots. Holding DTO training rights, it runs theoretical and practical courses toward the balloon pilot licence (BPL) as well as refresher courses for competition pilots. Beyond training, the club organises the Grudziądzkie Zawody Balonowe balloon competition and hosted the 6th FAI Junior World Hot Air Balloon Championship in August 2023.

Note
The club also offers scenic passenger balloon flights (up to two passengers in the basket, weather permitting) — a separate commercial offering distinct from the DTO-format BPL pilot training. No price list is published for either the training or the passenger flights.
What this means for you
A DTO is a lighter-weight form of training organisation, declared to ULC without full ATO certification. For a PPL(A) candidate it leads to exactly the same licence — DTOs are usually narrower in scope (e.g. PPL/LAPL only) and are often a cheaper, local option.
