About the school

Aeroklub Bydgoski is a regional aeroclub, active since 1946, based at its own grass airfield on ul. Biedaszkowo in Bydgoszcz. It runs theoretical and practical training toward a glider licence (SPL/LAPL(S)) on SZD-9bis Bocian and SZD 51-1 Puchacz gliders, and toward an airplane licence (PPL(A)/LAPL(A)) on a Cessna 150. It also offers touring motor glider (TMG) training on a Grob G109, plus introductory flights on both gliders and airplanes.

Per the site's price list, as of 5 Aug 2026: glider introductory flight by winch launch 190 PLN, by aerotow 590 PLN; airplane introductory flight on a Cessna C150 (1 pax, 15 min) 350 PLN (+15 PLN/extra min), on a Maule M7 (2 pax, 15 min) 450 PLN (+100 PLN for a 3rd passenger, +30 PLN/extra min).

Booking & availability

To start training: send an application (name, phone, e-mail, training type) to biuro@aeroklubbydgoski.com, become a club member and pay membership dues, complete the theory course (usually Feb-Apr), pass the theory exam, undergo a class-2 aero-medical exam, then begin practical training.

Note

The club trains on its own grass airfield on ul. Biedaszkowo, adjacent to the CTR of Bydgoszcz-Szwederowo commercial airport (EPBY); touring motor glider (TMG) training, however, takes place at EPBY itself, not the club's own airfield. The club airfield's runways are unavailable to aircraft outside the aeroclub.

What this means for you

A DTO is a lighter-weight form of training organisation, declared to ULC without full ATO certification. For a PPL(A) candidate it leads to exactly the same licence — DTOs are usually narrower in scope (e.g. PPL/LAPL only) and are often a cheaper, local option.
