Air Law
Air Law covers the regulations, airspace classification, licensing, and rules of the air that a PPL(A) pilot must know. It is one of the core subjects of the ULC theory exam.
Topics
Airspace classification
Airspace is divided into classes A through G, each with different requirements for communication, clearances, and VMC minima. A PPL(A) pilot must know where they may fly and which rules apply.
PPL(A) licensing
The PPL(A) licence has defined requirements for age, flight hours, aeromedical certification, and ratings. The exam tests how the licence is obtained and kept valid.
Rules of the air
The rules of the air define right-of-way, avoidance, and in-flight conduct. They are the foundation of safely sharing the sky with other aircraft.
