DTO MZL is the declared glider-training activity of Mieleckie Zakłady Lotnicze, based at Mielec airport (EPML). It covers theoretical and practical training for the Sailplane Pilot Licence (SPL), a basic glider aerobatic rating, FI(S) instructor training, and the TPR(S)2/TPR(S)3 sailplane test-pilot rating programme. MZL separately runs a certified Approved Training Organisation (ATO) for powered-aircraft licences.

What this means for you
A DTO is a lighter-weight form of training organisation, declared to ULC without full ATO certification. For a PPL(A) candidate it leads to exactly the same licence — DTOs are usually narrower in scope (e.g. PPL/LAPL only) and are often a cheaper, local option.
