About the school

PRONAR's Aviation Training Centre (OSL PRONAR) has run since 30 March 2020 from the company's own site in Narew. It trains candidates for the glider pilot licence (SPL) and a glider-aerobatics rating, using a fleet of Polish SZD-54-2 Perkoz, PW-6U and SZD-50-1 Junior gliders alongside a WT-9 Dynamic ultralight tow plane. The centre describes its equipment as the most modern of any gliding school in Poland (its own claim).

Note

Courses are open to outside candidates (minimum age 14, an aero-medical certificate required); PRONAR employees and their families receive preferential terms. The centre operates from a grass runway, 1500x35 m, reinforced with matting, at the company's own Narew site — the site does not itself state the aerodrome's name or ICAO code.

What this means for you

A DTO is a lighter-weight form of training organisation, declared to ULC without full ATO certification. For a PPL(A) candidate it leads to exactly the same licence — DTOs are usually narrower in scope (e.g. PPL/LAPL only) and are often a cheaper, local option.
