About the school

Aeroklub Warszawski is a flying association based at Warszawa-Babice airfield (ul. Księżycowa 1) — its home since 1977 — and as an organisation it has been training pilots for over 90 years. It runs theoretical and practical training toward the LAPL(A), PPL(A) and CPL(A) licences plus IR/SE, IR/ME, night-VFR and UPRT ratings, as well as FI(A) instructor training. Beyond its airplane section, the club also runs glider, skydiving, balloon, paragliding and model-aviation sections.

Indicative price

Per the club's site (as of 5 Aug 2026): the PPL(A)/LAPL(A) theory course starts from 3,199 PLN. The cost of practical (instructor-led flight) training is billed per the club's own internal price list, which is not published on the site. The club is a membership association, not a company — enrolling in training means joining as a member: per the board resolution of 6 Nov 2023 on 2024 dues (still the only such document published), the annual "candidate member" fee is 660 PLN (age 25 or under) or 960 PLN (over 25), discounted to 500 PLN / 700 PLN for early payment. Separately, the FI(A) instructor seminar costs 500 PLN for AW members / 700 PLN for everyone else.

Booking & availability

Before starting PPL(A)/LAPL(A) theory training you buy the course in the club's online shop (sklep.aeroklub.waw.pl) and fill in the application form under "szkolenia samolotowe" — the training department gets in touch afterwards. Theory classes are held in person at the club's administrative building at ul. Księżycowa 1, on either a weekday track (Mon–Fri) or a weekend track (Fri–Sun). Practical flight training can start alongside the theory course and is paid for flight-by-flight rather than upfront.

Note

Aerobatic training (on the Ekstra 300L SP-EKS) is flown not from the home Warszawa-Babice base but over Radom Piastów airfield (EPRP).

What this means for you

An ATO holds a full ULC certificate covering the whole training range — from basic licences to commercial and instructor ratings. These are the broadest-scope schools, often with their own fleet and simulators (FNPT/FSTD).
